Alamin Sheikh

I'm currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science at Kiel University, Germany, with a background in software development and a focus on machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Previously, I worked as a Software Engineer, developing real-time systems including chat, audio/video features, and ERP platforms, while collaborating with machine learning teams on AI-driven solutions for IoT applications.

I completed my undergraduate studies at American International University-Bangladesh, where my thesis “Real-time Speech Emotion Recognition using Deep Learning” was supervised by Dr. M M Manjurul Islam (Research Associate in AI at Ulster University, UK) and resulted in a published paper. I also worked as a Research Assistant.

After graduation, I joined the NanoCamp at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), gaining hands-on experience with advanced systems such as Micro-CT, Helium Ion Microscopy (HIM), Raman spectroscopy, and SEM.

My interests include Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Intelligent Systems, with a growing focus on robotics-related applications.

Research

I'm primarily interested in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and robotics, with a focus on developing intelligent systems that can perceive, learn, and interact with real-world environments. My previous work includes research on speech emotion recognition using deep learning, along with practical experience in building AI-driven systems in industry.

I am particularly interested in areas such as computer vision, reinforcement learning, and autonomous systems, which are essential for robotics applications. I am also motivated to explore topics like robot perception, motion planning, and control systems to build a strong foundation in intelligent robotic systems.
